Entomologist/Ecologist Dan Marschalek has been studying the butterflies of Crestridge for over a decade. Why has the Hermes Copper butterfly disappeared from Crestridge? What’s the difference between a butterfly and a moth? Where do butterflies go in winter? Dan can answer all your butterfly questions while we hike around the reserve learning about these beautiful, fragile, and somewhat mysterious creatures. This hike will cover 1-2 miles as we observe butterflies and their ecosystems in the reserve. Meet at the reserve entrance, 1171 Horsemill Road, El Cajon, CA 92021. Bring binoculars if you have them. Please RSVP.
