National Day of Reason – Freethought Literature After Party

  • Thursday, May 2, 2013

    5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

  • First Unitarian Church of Orlando

1901 E. Robinson Street, Orlando, FL (map)

  • We’ll be in Gore Hall next to the main building and sanctuary

May 2nd is the National Day or Reason and the many freethought organizations in Central Florida are planning to invite parents and students from area schools to get to know us. This “open house” event will be in the afternoon following the distribution of our freethought literature in eleven Orange County High Schools.

If you are not a student or a parent and would like to volunteer to help out, please email [masked]. When you arrive you can check in to volunteer in case we need assistance during the event. Also, parking is very limited so please communicate with other attendees and carpool to the event. Alternate parking areas will be identified soon so stay tuned to this page for information.

Special guests at the event include Teresa MacBain, Executive Director of the Humanists of Florida Association, Dan Barker, Co-President of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and David Silverman, President of American Atheists. This is not a venue designed for our guests to make presentations, but you can catch Teresa and Dan at other great events nearby this week:

    1) Teresa MacBain will speak at the Orlando Freethinkers and Humanists on Sunday, April 28th at 1 PM.

    2) Dan Barker will join us for a private, members only event in Geneva on Friday, May 3rd at 6:30 PM. If interested you must join Central Florida Freethought Community (CFFC) on meetup to RSVP

    3) Dan Barker will also appear at UCF on Saturday, May 4th, between 11 AM and 3 PM. Details to follow on this event very soon.
